Symptoms That Show You Have a Bed Bug Infestation

If you have never encountered them before you may wonder whether or not you have bedbugs.  There are several ways that you can tell though.

Because treating them can be so expensive it is important that you identify whether or not you have an infestation.  There is also the fact that the sooner you recognize bed bugs symptoms the sooner they can be treated and the less expensive the treatment can ultimatilly be to treat.

Waste

One common give away that you have bedbugs is finding their waste spots.  These are spots that you will find on your mattress or floor and are a light brown.  You’ll usually find this spotting close to the places where they eat so look for them on your mattress.

These bugs also shed their skin as they grow so you might find those skins near the same spots.

Because they can can get and hide underneath your sheets and in small cracks and crevices so you’ll need to look very carefully.

Bites

One of first symptoms that show you have a bed bug infestation is the appearance of bug bites.  These will be small red spots or welts that can be very itchy.  Most of the time these will happen in the night just before sun up when the bedbugs are most active.  The bugs like to eat when you are sleeping and not moving so they might happen while you are sleeping in beds, sofas and chairs.

Each person will react differently but the bites generally can be very itchy.  They also might be in a cluster or line as the bug follows a blood line.  You should also look for spots that were not there when you went to bed.

Odor

Many people also report that there is a small but distinct odor put off by bed bugs .  It is a musty smell that is pretty obnoxious.  The bigger the odor the worse the smell.

If you start to recognize bed bugs symptoms in your home make sure that you treat as soon as possible to keep the infestation as small as possible and keep it from growing too large.  The larger the infestation the harder it is to treat for them.
